The pot is made in Turkey, Gaziantep (the province famous for its coppersmiths). Artisans are making these long-lasting amazing coffee pots for centuries. Their profession on engraving and creating these beautiful pieces has passed from father to son for a very long time.
The pot is compatible with electric, gas and ceramic cookers. In some cultures including Turkish and Arabic, there are other traditional methods of making coffee such as, cooking on embers or hot sand. In addition to making coffee, you can easily melt chocolate or heat up milk with this pot.
The Medium pot is 12 fl oz, and the X-Large is 18 fl oz (can easily serve 4-6 people at once). The wooden handle allows you to use it with comfort so that your hand does not burn. It has an engraved floral pattern for a stylish finish. It's an excellent authentic gift.
Coffee lovers' choice, it is best to make the coffee with a copper pot. Because it helps to raise the temperature evenly and gradually, thus, your coffee will become more aromatic, tastier, and also it's going to be more foamy. Turkish coffee pot is also known as Cezve, Ibrik, Briki or Jezva.
Approximately 450 years ago, Ozdemir Pasha, the governor of Yemen, who had been fascinated with the coffee beans of Yemen, brought them to the Ottoman Palace. By courtesy of a brand-new coffee making method invented by the Turks, coffee made from those coffee beans has been labeled ''Turkish Coffee''. Raw coffee beans were roasted in pans, then they were crushed with coffee mortars, brewed in copper coffee pots and diligently served to the most prestigious friends and drunk. Both in palace cuisine and at homes, Turkish coffee has become a familiar flavor and with the speed of the social life, the coffee culture was spread widely.
To make Turkish / Greek Coffee: 1. Measure the water with the cup and pour it to the coffee pot 2. Add 2 teaspoons of coffee (6 gr of coffee for 65ml water) 3. Optionally, add 2 teaspoons of sugar for each cup 4. Properly mix the coffee and sugar on low heat 5. After a while, share out the risen foam to cups 6. During the service, it's a tradition to hand a glass of water alongside the coffee.
